Shrove Tuesday is a Christian holy day that marks the end of pre-Lent and the beginning of Lent's fasting period. It's also known as Pancake Day.

Why is it celebrated?

  • To reflect on life and try to live God's way
  • To use up eggs and fat before Lent, when food is restricted
  • To confess sins

How is it celebrated? By eating pancakes and other sweets, By participating in confession, By burning the previous year's Holy Week palms, and By finalizing one's Lenten sacrifice.
